Canned Tomatoes
 
 
Grandmother gave me this recipe.
 
  tomatoes (rutger or better boy  
  canning salt  
  quart jars  
  hot water  
 
Wash tomatos then blanch, peel and remove all bad spots as well as both tops and bottoms. In a large pot heat boil, cook just till they are tender. While still hot (use clean rubber gloves.) Pack tightly into sterilized quart jars. To each jar add 1 teaspoon canning salt and fill with hot water to one inch from lid. Then put into canner bring to boil. Hot water bath 10 minutes.
