Butter Mints
 
 
1 stick    butter  
2 lb    confectioners sugar  
4 T    hot water  
20 drops    oil of peppermint (wintergreen oil for green)  
  food coloring  
 
Let butter sit out to become room temperature, mix all ingredients together and form into a ball. Thoroughly mixing; then knead as you would dough. If color is used, divide into portions and mix color in each. Roll out desired 1/4 - 1/2 inch thickness between waxed paper. Cut with tiny 'cookie' or shape cutters or use scissors in your designs.
