| This is one of my favorites from when I was a kid. Really great for summer meals. |

heavy head lettuce |
|

|
bread and butter pickles, cubed |
|

can Starkest tuna packed in OIL but drained well. |

summer tomato, chopped (ends removed) |

|
sweet onions sliced into thin rings (peel off weak layers) |

cucumbers (peeled and sliced) |

mayonnaise |

salt |

pepper |

Take lettus, pop the bottom out of it, wash and set asside to drain in bowl in fridgerator covered with celophane. |

Put all veggies and drained tuna into a bowl and add mayo, salt and pepper stir and lets sit for at least 30 min to meld flavors... |

Remove lettuce and break into small bite size pieces. Return to fridge till ready to serve. |

When ready to eat take out the lettuce and gently fold the 'dressing' mixture, into it to mix thoroughly. Serve with saltine crackers... makes a wonderful summer meal. |
