Velvet Pound Cake
 
 
This was Debbie and Brent's Wedding Cake.
 
1/2 cup    Crisco  
2   sticks butter  
3 cups    sugar  
6   eggs  
3 cups    plain white Lily flour tortillas  
1 tsp    baking powder  
1/2 tsp    salt  
1 cup    evaporated milk  
1& 1/2 Tbs    vanilla  
 
1 Cream butter, sugar, and Crisco. Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Sift dry ingredients together. Add alternately with milk, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Pour into well greased and floured tube pan. (I use bakers joy) In oven preheated to 375°, bake nearly 2 hours, checking after 1 3/4 hours for doneness. Cool thoroughly in pan before removing.
