Oyster Stew
 
 
Oh how we loved this when Big Mama made it. This is my version.
 
1 quart    milk  
1 cup    heavy cream  
1/2 cup    butter  
2 pints    oysters, with liquor  
1 tsp    salt  
  pepper till speckled  
 
Heat milk and cream to scalding. add warm butter and oysters, liquor and all, add salt and pepper and cook till edges of oysters slightly curl. Server immediately.
