| Grandmother normally just used left over biscuit dough to make these but sometimes you just want them and there is no dough *wink* |

| 2/3 cup |

all-purpose flour |

self-rising flour |

shortening |

| 1/2 tsp |

salt |

| 1/3 cup |

milk |

| 1- 1/2 cup |

light brown sugar, packed |

stick butter |

| 2 tsp |
|
vanilla, mixed with 2 t water |

| Sift together flour and salt, cut into shortening, mix with milk until stiff dough is formed. Then roll on lightly floured board to thin rectangles. Cover evenly with brown sugar and dot all over with small chunks of butter over the sugar. Roll tightly as for jelly roll and seal edges with a little water. Cut into 2/3 inch pieces crosswise and put put in buttered shallow pan. Bake in 350° oven until brown on bottom and turn once and brown until seems done. Just before removing from pan, pour a few drops of vanilla water on each stickie. Let stand in the oven about one minute longer. Remove from pan with spatula and cool.. Yield about 20. |
