Extra oil for frying |

| Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Beat egg and add milk and oil to it. Add to flour mixture. Stir with fork until thoroughly mixed. Drop by teaspoonfuls into 4 inch deep hot fat. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels or brown paper bags. Roll warm puffs into mixture of cinnamon and sugar or glaze them with thin confectioners sugar icing. |
