Mint Ice Tea

1 quart    water
4   Lipton Family size tea bags (Luzianne decaf if you want less caffeine)
2 cups    sugar
1   bunch mint leaves
  1 thin lemon wedges

In a large pot bring the water to a boil. Remove pot from heat, add the tea bags, cover with a lid, and allow tea to steep in water for 4 minutes. Take a 1 gallon jug and pour the sugar into the jug add tea water, stir the sugar around to dissolve while the tea is steeping in more cold water. Once sugar is totally melted pour the cool tea water into sweet tea syrup and keep rinsing out teabags in fresh water and pouring into the gallon of sweetened tea until the gallon is filled. Float mint on top of the warm tea for 30 minutes. May be put in fridge after this. The mint will grow stronger the longer it is in the tea so remove when you feel it is strong enough. To serve, pour over ice and garnish with a slice of lemon and a mint leaf.
